What are the marks, chatter from extrusion or not a homogeneous lump of metals? I bought some hollow bar offcuts that look similar with no better spec from the counter than that it is bearing bronze. I made an ok mod1 worm with some, nice to cut.

Might be.....my experience with aluminum bronze is its tough!....Very sharp tools and usually carbide.....but I don't know what grade it was....but it wasn't pleasant!
