I've started building the Stuart Progress Oscillating Engine.

I started with the flywheel, which was a really nice casting. I machined all the dimensions by eye apart from the diameter. I've videoed the machining, but I forgot to take any still pics! Sorry. I'll try harder for the next update.

I held the flywheel in a 3 jaw chuck, on the inside of the rim which gave me a nice, very true running inside rim. The rest of the process was plain sailing.

 
Thanks. I do have a soft spot for the more authentic looking oscillating engines.
I have the Crosskill's Oscillating engine ready to start as the next project. That kit is available from Polly Model Engineering.

I've done that. Now I face the center, bore a centrer hole and place the endstock in the hole. Doesn't fly out.
