I would like to suggest that the administrator do some REVIEW and DELETIONS to B,S,T, item listing that have been listed over a reasonable time period, say 1 year maximum.
After that time period some attempt should be made to contact individual posting and if they are no longer around and responsive the listing should be DELETED at that point. Ill bet this will reduce the BST listings considerable and save those of that are interested a heap of time in reviewing the BST listings.

Thanks for the suggestion Bob. Although trying to contact each poster in the BST section would take weeks of work I will look into a 12 month auto delete for future posts

I have an item on the listing a (planer) and would like to delete it since the machine has been sold. I have tried with no luck to delete it myself.

Just report it and ask for it to be deleted.

Wouldn't it be nice if the system was setup so the individual who posted the item could delete it with out having to put the burden on the administration people.

A work-around would be just to post another reply that says the item is sold. At least it would keep prospective buyers from getting confused.

There are secondary effects if members can delete their own threads. I'll discuss with the team about any deleting of the older threads in that area.

The currently active postings are usually the ones getting the new posts and will be at the top of the forums.

And SOLD as the final post would be a good solution.

One thing I have always wondered, and it might partially help here, is if the date of original posting could appear in the title listing next to the original poster's name. This would be forum-wide.

Even if this only started after the date of implementation, it might help.
