A question about Elmer's no11 Radial

Hi To Everyone,

I am about to finish the machining and assembly of the Elmer's No11 Radial engine but one point puzzels me and that is about the rotary valve arrangement. Elmer states in his construction notes that both the 1/16" projection from the rotay valve crank and the 1/16" recieving central hole in the valve to be both close and smooth, C&S in his plans but if that is so how does the valve line up properly with the intake and exhaust holes in the chamber? If the 1/16" projection is loose and not fixed does't it just allow the valve to rotate about this axis and not line up properly?
If any of you good people of the forum could shed some light on this matter I would be grateful.
BTW, I have not bothered to post this question in the Elmer's Engines Yahoo group as there has not been any activity for the last 3 months, since there was some issues with the copyright of the plans.

I built it. I don't remember (not an unusual occurrence) how that worked. If I weren't leaving for the airport in an hour, I'd take it apart and look.

Although unlikely, if someone here doesn't have the answer, I'll disassemble #11 on Saturday when I get back home.
