The Minnie was my first 'Major' project.
I had bought L. C. Mason's book a few years prior to starting the build (work introduced a 4 year break in model engineering). The construction took about 18 months.

A few years later my daughter asked me to build one for her and the construction progress photos. are of the second one.

Beautiful work! I also bought the book years ago but never got around to building it. It's still on my to-do list.

All of your models are just amazing!
Can you tell me about the color of the wheels and flywheel on the Minnie?

Hello Dave
Thanks for the comments.

I'm not certain what the paint was, it was many years ago but I suspect it was a specific colour sold by 'Precision Paints'. Probably something like 'Midland Red' (a loco colour) I believe that the green was 'Ruston and Hornsby Green'

In the absence of Cellulose paint I now use Humbrol.

Hi

A couple of fine looking engines. I built a minnie recently and found it to be a very rewarding project. A nice design and the model works as good as it looks.
