Every spring we have an old mother skunk raise a litter of kittens near our back yard.
One night I came home from a 2nd shift and saw a limb from the tree in the front yard
that had been blown down in a storm that passed through that evening.
I decided to drag it back to the woods behind the house at 1:00AM.
Didn't I disturb old Mom and her kittens in the back yard.
The kittens stayed put but Mom started following me. The faster I walked, the faster
she followed.
After two laps around the house I finally got far enough ahead of her to jump into a door
without being followed in.
She stood there for a few minutes to be sure I wasn't coming back out, but soon enough
went on about her evening.
I laugh about it today but that night I was sure I'd be wearing new blend of aftershave for
a month!
