I love it. Of all the model machines I've seen over the years this is the first time I've seen model washing machines. Great project. Thanks for sharing.
I have three of these little washer.
Rodue those are absolutely beautiful machines. I think my wife would like me to make one if for nothing else I’d start doing my own laundry. One pair of socks at a time but it would be a start.
Your casting work is incredible, being relatively new to melting things I can well imagine the hours went into them. Do you have any pictures of some of your patterns? I love to see them.
The video mentions model engineering shows- where will you be taking these? I would go to any show just to see these.
George Luhrs made a much smaller model washing machine he had on his famous round table at many ME shows, but i do not recall any other model like it.
I want one!
Simply amazing....I am a big Maytag fan.
I cast two more sets and cut the gears for one. That one was made and he is a big Maytag collector and he has made many shows. He took it to NAMES,a few years ago and it was a big hit.
Thanks for the interest.
My wife made some red flannel long johns a pair of overalls and a bra.
we would hang them on a rope a long with the little washers, and they were 5/16 scale. I made the engine, but its not reliable enough to use.
Here is a picture of the core that I made to cast the tube, it was carved from wood and then a core box was made. After the sand cured I installed in to the cavity of the tube. because of the ring at the top and bottom of the tube I had to use a three piece sand casting. You can see this was the heart of the washer,
