A friend of mine acquired this chuck & he is looking for information. Does anyone have any web links / catalog type specs or even useful comments? Unfortunately I did not take a picture of the back side, but its direct threaded (to Myford ML7 spindle as per the stamping). I Googled a bit on model 34M but didn't see many direct hits. Most appear to be other flavors; either separate backplates or front bolts or the body seems thicker.

It's an excellent chuck and the threaded body cuts down on overhang , like it says it was designed for use with Myford ML7 and Super7 lathes which are very popular in the UK.
Could be problematic though not impossible to fit to another make of lathe
Dan.

Thanks, happen to know off hand what the ML7 spindle thread is? A bit of Googling turns up 1.125 in x 12TPI x 55 deg Whitworth. I wonder if this ever changed over the years or could be counted on to be what the chuck thread is given the stamping in picture?

I think you will find that is correct.
Dan.
