I will be making four 1.000" ID cylinder liners and I am looking for a good liner material. I intend to silver solder the liners to the cylinder jackets. Always looking for a better (quicker) way, I found drawn over mandrel (DOM) 1020 grade steel tubing (A513 type 5) with a .995" ID and a .063" wall thickness. It looks like it can be easily pin honed to finish size without any machining. Has anyone ever used this material for cylinder liners? I would appreciate any opinions on this material for liners?
