V-4 Flame Licker, Vacuum engine, Avaleur de Flame

I guess you should have a very special perception and ability to built an engine out of your mind with simple sketches....to many measurements to put together at the end......or might be wrong.....do not know..

V-4 Flame Licker, Vacuum engine, Avaleur de Flame

I have been thinking about a Vee Twin too. Guess the difficult part will be the timing between the two....guess you need some theoretic principles to go with. The engine I built from Phil Duclos is not horizontal.....and runs beautiful, the valve system is very simple and has got a fixed...

Flame gulper running (no slow motion)

Werner, thank you for the information. Mr. Gerd-litty has a very interesting web page, but it is all German I guess. No other language?...that makes things complicated. Does he sell plans from his engines? Mario

V-4 Flame Licker, Vacuum engine, Avaleur de Flame

Mr Font had built many versions of his engine.....in one, two and four cylinders.....as can be seen in his youtube page. He does not seem interested in sharing his plans. I built one of Duclos, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iMXJ24BXL4 Actually his engines are similar to Duclos but I...

    New PM-932M-PDF

My new PM-932M-PDF mill just arrived. My previous mill was a mini mill. I knew this PM was heavy.....but it was only in my imagination......first time I realized the weight was when I picket it up....and the truck suspension went about 10 inches down:mad:. I got a portable fork lift from a...

    Philip Duclos Little "Blazer"

In my engine I have an aluminum cylinder and brass piston, and it works very nice, so I do not think this is the problem. As Tin says, friction and leaks are the enemy. You need 0.0005" clearance between the cylinder and piston, condition that it is not very easy to achieve if you do not have...

    AFCF1 flame licker/vacuum engine completed!

By some reason I can not see the video in the other post, I will try to check it in you tube. It looks like a very interesting and challenging engine, to be honest have never heard of it before. As I can read from you post you have a lot more experience than me on making little engines, I have...

    AFCF1 flame licker/vacuum engine completed!

I am not an expert on flame lickers, but yours looks great and works OK. I can not change the timing in the one I did, it is fixed, and honestly I do not know why it goes so fast, also it turns opposite to yours. That tachometer you have, nice instrument, I will have to get one. What are you...

    Philip Duclos Little "Blazer"

Thank you Ripcrow. It gets me too. It is amazing how fast it is, do not know why and very sensitive to the flame position.

    Philip Duclos Little "Blazer"

Hi to all, I finally finished my second engine. Philip Duclos Little "Blazer". I must admit have learned a lot from this group, and would like to thank all members who take the time to post their projects with good pictures and so much detailed information. The engine is quite small and came...

    Cutting lubrication

Beef fat, guess in English is called tallow. In this part of the world in Spanish it is called "sebo". It works great in steel, and mixed with lamp oil works great in aluminum. Great for tapping too. Mario
