Removing pulley from a motor spindle

Lots of great advice here about how to go about removing your pulley from the motor. I would like to say there are different penetrating oils and some do work better than others. I prefer Kroil with PB Blaster being a close second choice. I have heard of a homemade version of a solvent and...

    Making a face plate

Hello all, I don't have a face plate so I thought I would try to make one. I have some unknown .375 steel I found in the pile. Will this be thick enough to make a face plate out of for a mini lathe? Thanks, Dave

    Playing Carpenter

Brian, Sometimes the only way to get what you want is to build ityourself. Can I offer a suggestion? Are you planning on adding a stop to keep the drawers from completely pulling out and dumping in the floor?

    Brian builds Atkinson Engine

Brian, Some commercial boilers use "sight glasses" so you can watch the flame pattern when adjusting the combustion settings. I found a 2" x 1/4" glasses doing a quick search. http://www.statesupply.com/maintenance-supplies/boiler-room-supplies/gauge-glass-and-accessories/ed1027 Good luck...

    x2 taper removal help.

Speedy, I have used "Kroil" for stuck parts before with great success. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000F09CF4/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 It is highly flamable so be careful if you start heating after you have oiled it down. Good Luck,

A shop by any other name........

I call it my garage even though I will never fit a car in it. I have an aggrement with my wife, the next house we buy must have a detached building for a shop so I wont have to hear about the smells, dust, or chips getting in the house.
