    V4 14.59 CI

I'm working on a V4 engine I designed. The crankcase is a weldment but the rest is made from solid on manual machines. It will be fueled by gasoline or propane but I'm not sure which way to go. If it runs well it will likely power a boat of about six feet long. I'm not a purist and my machines...

Coolant volume vs. displacement or HP

I’m working on an engine design for a liquid cooled inline twin. I’m wondering if anyone has information about how much internal volume and/or internal surface area is needed for the internal water passages. The coolant would be raw pond water and the pump rate could be infinitely adjustable...

water-cooled trimmer conversion, VEE 4 drawing, and flat head drawing

The Forum moderator has asked for updates on members' activities so I thought I'd add something for what it's worth. I've converted a troybilt trimmer engine to water-cooled. It will go into another 65" mahogany boat (see prior posts). The water pump is an internal gear pump made from a honda...

Flywheel design/ proper weight and diameter

I'm working on a home built V-twin with an 83cc displacement. It's my own design loosly based on J. Howell's "Bill". It has a 1.43 bore and a 1.56 stroke. I'd like it to run at between 500 and 1000 rpm. I need advice on how to determine the proper size flywheel. Thanks.
