    Vevor Metal Bender

I have just taken delivery of one of these and I'm impressed with the value for money. This is a strong piece of kit weighing 18ks and for Euros100 including a DHL delivery from The Netherlands to Croatia was very impressive. Less impressive were the instructions, which were too small to read...

    Help dismantling gearbox

Hi Ive been given a French gearbox, with the intention of recovering the aly from the casing for recasting. I thought that removing the gears with my bearing pullers would be quite simple, but I cannot get them to move at all. Has anyone else done this who could advise on dismantling ?

    Holding down straps

One for the Europeans. Does anyone have a source for holding down straps ? I can only find complete holding down sets. I'm talking of the sets in red stands. I'm looking for just the straps with the dog toothed ends that match the triangular raising blocks. The ones I have are only short and...

    Drill bits

I was intrigued to discover the KnKut Step Point drills, which combine a drill with a starter. Do these work well ? My first thought was #great#, but then I wondered about chip clearance once the full drill was cutting. It made me wonder why I hadn't seen them before. Cheers Peter

    FEMI Bandsaws

My Burgess is proving too good at throwing blades off the wheels so I would like to make a vertical option on my FEMI. FEMI do do a table for vertical use, but I cannot afford one. Does anyone have a FEMI with the table and be willing to post some photos of it, particularly the underside and...

    Tap sizes

I´m almost ashamed to ask this, as I should know ! I bought some taps (sets of three -TSP) from the local tool shop. The M6 were very cheap, worked OK but were Chinese. I went back for M4 and M5 and they were twice the price, albeit still cheap, but were German. On using the M4s, I came to the...

Morning all and the compliments of the season ! I am looking for plans for a Westinghouse Pump for a 5¨ gauge loco. At one time, I had some, but cannot now find them. I have a box with accumulated material in and a scrap of paper listing what the bits are for. I don't know when they got...

    LibreCAD

Is anyone using LibreCAD ? I have installed it but have never used it before. I would like to use it to create these and then create an STL file to print from. Is this feasible, please? The discs are 54mm diameter and 10.5mm thick.

    Headstock Mandrel

Hi guys I welcome suggestions. I made a headstock mandrel for my Boxford, but the cone just revolves instead of pulling up and spreading the end. The one I made for the Hobbymat works fine. Any thoughts on what I should do ?

    New member

Hi I´m Peter. I live in Istria and fortunately brought a lot of kit with me when I came here. It was just as well as, apart from the shipyards down in Pula, there isn't much industry here and consequently little access to the sources of materials that I was used to. One thing that I am stumped...
