Hi all,
I have built a laminar flow engine which wont run when piston is connected to fly wheel, however the piston oscillates one its own when disconnected from fly wheel.
Any one has a clue what the problem/solution might be?
Alex
Hello every one!
I've been away from this forum too long and thought it would be time for a comeback.
Still looking at different engine designs and no complete engine yet, just various parts laying around. Among them a cylinder I made some months ago. Can't remember which ozzy it belongs to so...
Thanks for your input!
Wes, I live in Sweden so it might not be worth shipping, but thanks anyway! ;D
Teflon is easily available here so I think I'll have a go with that.
Hi gang,
I want to build a laminar flow stirling engine but can't find graphite around here. Is there any other material which can be used as a piston?
Teflon came to my mind but it might not like the heat.
Hello group!
Just ordered a 4-jaw chuck, but before contruction can begin I need some very small boring bars for machining the cylinder barrel. Do you know where these can be purchased?
Thanks and merry Christmas

Hi all,
Was going to drill a hole through a little fly wheel that I'm making for the Tiny engine. I put the B16-MK1 morse cone in the tailstock and then mounted the chuck. I made a final check that all was ok before start drilling, well it wasn't. The MK1 cone had some movement in the...
Thanks a lot guys!
I retighted it a few times and eventually I got it right. not perfect but almost. Tomorrow I'll check the chuck for wobble.
Again, thanks.
I have nothing to measure with so it's hard to say. But it's certainly not more than 1 mm (.04") at the end of a 50 mm (2") long, 20 mm (3/4") dia piece.
Hello group,
Got my lathe the other day. How I try I cannot get the work piece to line properly in the chuck- there's always some minor wobble. Anyone knows how to solve this?
I think that it's easy to cut corners a bit when working with hazordous materials at home. I handle carcinogenic and other less good chemicals, such at mastinox and MEK, at work. Protection equipment is always available. When I'm home and lack a mask or what ever it may be I keep on working...
In German only, but lots of pictures of various engines. Among others an oscillating flame eater!
