Grizzly 4 3/4” Power Rotary table c/w DRO

Update on the dead T1191 rotary table I returned to Grizzly. Apparently the power supplies have been a problem. Until this is resolved with the supplier, there will be no more shipments. Am being refunded my money and will wait until the updated units arrive. No dates were given.

Grizzly 4 3/4” Power Rotary table c/w DRO

Jmccrack, While I was looking over the unit, I noticed that the hand wheel micrometer dial was graduated in 2 minute increments and the steps of the motor appear to be 2 minutes as well. That would seem to indicate it could indeed do .5 degrees which would be 15 steps at 2 minutes each for 30...

Grizzly 4 3/4” Power Rotary table c/w DRO

Received the T1191 on Monday. It was DOA. Power Supply was bad, no output voltage. The unit has been sent back to Grizzly. They are going to test and send out another one. I did like the looks of rotary table and the motor drive. Will see how this plays out.

Gordon, I believe you click on the profile and select “Start a conversation.”

Gordon, I use .DXF and .DWG files to import into not only 3D Cad but Cad Cam as well. If you like, private message me with one of your attached .DXF files and I will take a look at it.

Gordon, I haven’t met a 3D mechanical cad program that didn’t have a provision for importing .DWG or .DXF 2D geometry files into the sketch workspace for extruding into 3D shapes. Did you try exporting your Visual Cadd drawing files to .DWG then importing them into Fusion 360? The 2D geometry...

Grizzly 4 3/4” Power Rotary table c/w DRO

I don’t see this as being an issue. Everything I've done on a manual rotary table or indexer (Speedex) is with whole angle increments. Jmccrack, Thanks for posting those screen shots and additional info.

Grizzly 4 3/4” Power Rotary table c/w DRO

So if my math is correct, the gear ratio is 72:1 (360/72 = 5 degrees per revolution of the motor) at 1000 lines per revolution of the encoder, (5/1000)= .005 degree resolution. Converted to degrees, minutes, seconds, would be 0° 0' 18". Wish Grizzly would publish these specs.

I’ve been in about the same boat as vederstein. Tried several 3d Mechanical CAD programs as well. AutoCad Mechanical Desktop, Rhino, Solid Edge, Fusion 360, Alibre etc. and lastly IronCad Inovate. They all had things I liked about them and things I disliked. For me, a good compromise was IronCad...

Grizzly 4 3/4” Power Rotary table c/w DRO

Thanks for the info Jmccrack! .0002" is pretty good. Just checked the MT2 bore on my manual 6” rotary table. It has .0004” runout.

Grizzly 4 3/4” Power Rotary table c/w DRO

Jmccrack, Never mind. Looks like you would have to remove the 3 jaw chuck to do the MT2 bore runout check.

Jmccrack, When you are running your series of tests, If you would, please check the runout on the MT2 tapered center bore. Thank you. Bob

I have had very good results with IronCad Innovate. Can easily drag and drop basic 3D shapes into the workspace and easily manipulate them using their patented TriBall. Easy to create 2d geometry and extrude to 3D shapes. Has AutoCad DWG and DXF import functions as well. Animation is included in...

Grizzly 4 3/4” Power Rotary table c/w DRO

Jmccrack, I am considering that same stepper drive rotary table from Grizzly. How is it working out for you to date? Any idea as to the positional accuracy? As you and others have said, it appears to be a fairly robust and well made. Any feedback would be helpful. Not much out there in the way...
