Some will tell you that an endmill can pull out of a collet. Probably can, with enough power and an aggressive feed. I've not had it happen, but I'm careful to ensure that the collet bore is clean and dry, as is the cutter shank, and then gt them good and tight.

My DP is a fairly recent Rigid brand. I have wondered if a stock replacement from a Rigid or maybe Sears DP would fit. Some of those in Sears have tables that look to be 18" square.
