    Offenhauser Mighty Midget Racing engine

If you don't have a set of, or want to make the gear cutters, you might consider going with the 0.5 Module gears rather then the 48DP. I needed to make gears for Rudy's Steam Tractor and tried to find 48DP gear cutters. Ended up going with 0.5 Module instead. Got a complete set for the price of...

    Model sized nuts

If you don't want to make them yourself then second vote for American Model Engineering. Have tried Mcmaster and MIcro and they are not to a scale that looks good. American are scaled and look good.

    Vacuum Rotor

Graphite is a good material for pistons for this type of engine. Easy to get a good fit, no problem with expansion from heat and self lubricating.

    Renovating a Sanderson Beam Engine

Monarch 10EE Lathe & Browne & Sharpe Bridegport Mill

Check out ebay both current listing and "sold" listing and you will get an idea what the lathe value is. Also the more tooling/attachments it has with it the higher the value. From what I am seeing on ebay for lathe with no extras $1000. to $1500. The collets and a collet closer attachment for...

    South bend 9 restore question

Not sure on the South Bend but on other brands I have left the bearings/bushings in place. Loosen all set screws or nuts holding gears and pulleys in place and slide the spindle out. Clean things up, paint and slide it back together. You may need to loosen the bearing caps a little but should...
