    modifying the cam dwell

The photo shows the cam in place. It is the one closest to the sprocket. I am trying to build up the lobe with some JB weld. I am pretty sure it will not hold up over time, but I plan to file it down to the point where the dwell is correct just to get an idea of the correct profile that I will...

    modifying the cam dwell

Hi, I need to modify the dwell on a cam on my Scuderi cycle engine that I built. I need to have the intake valve stay open for about 10 degrees longer so I would like to build up the lobe a bit. I no longer have access to a milling machine or lathe so making a new cam is not an option. I was...

    carburator for 1/4 scale Galloway

John, I looked at that mixer, and it should work just fine with a bushing that they also sell. It is almost an exact match for the one that I made. Thanks for the information. John

    carburator for 1/4 scale Galloway

Can any one recommend a finished carburetor that will work on my 1/4 scale Galloway engine? The mixer that I made for it is very unreliable and I am thinking of replacing it. Thanks, John.

    Aviation fuel in 4-stroke engine?

Jason, Thanks for the input. As I am using a vapor carb I guess the viton rings and oil in the fuel is not n option. Growing the piston as you explained may be my best option. How long does the piston have to stay at temp? I no longer have access to a lathe, so turning new pistons cannot happen...

    Aviation fuel in 4-stroke engine?

Hi Mark, How does one "grow" a piston?

    Aviation fuel in 4-stroke engine?

Hi, I have completed Jan Ridder's scuderi cycle engine. As of yet it will not run except for a few "pops" here and there. I am fairly sure that the problem is low compression. This engine uses no rings and relies on a very close and smooth fit between the piston and cylinder. He suggests no...

Hi, I'm just taking a long shot here, but I am looking for a set of outside jaws for my Buck chuck. It is a 6" adjus-tru, 3 jaw chuck model 3634. Nothing on E-Bay and I really don't expect to find them. You never know. Thanks, John.

    Reverse Tumbler Bearings

I was thinking that it might be possible the new gears may have been machined to a higher standard than the originals. Just a thought, but if it's true it might make a difference.

    Reverse Tumbler Bearings

Dave, I was not very clear. I'm talking about the twin gears on the the feed reverse mechanism. They normally have plain bearings. A vendor on E-Bay is selling replacement gears with ball bearings instead of plain as an upgrade to make the gear train quieter. I was thinking of replacing mine...

    Reverse Tumbler Bearings

Hi, I was looking at the replacement ball bearing, reverse tumbler gears that they sell on E-Bay. They claim to make the gear train a lot quieter. My South Bend 10L is pretty noisy, and I was wondering if any one has installed these and if they work as claimed? Thanks, John.

    Leaky Check Valve

Thanks for the tip Cheepo. I'll give it a try. This is for Jan's Scuderi Cycle engine. I have it completed but can not get it to run yet. I'm hoping this will do the trick.
