    Deviding head $311.99

I bought a 6" 3 jaw chuck from the same manufacture Sanou. It was well made and the finish was good. The first I did with the chuck was take it apart and clean it. I got about an eighth of a teaspoon of grit out of the chuck. I re-lubed the chuck and it works great. I planned before I bought...

    Stanley Style Steamer

The powder we sold went for about $12.50/lb back in the late 80's early 90's some companies sold it for twice that. It's a multi layer processes. A metallic bond coat has to be applied first then sometimes an intermediate layer of of the bond coat material blended with the ceramic and finally a...

Jay Leno when he restored his Doble flash boiler he had to use some rather exotic materials to insulate the fire box. the Doble uses gas, petrol, for fuel. The same insulation is used on jet engine burner cans. I usta make the raw material for it. It's a plasma sprayed coating of ZrO/CaO...

    What the heck?

Before running your motors at higher than 60hZ, if not made for it, you need to look at the name plate and check the rating. A 1725 motor rotor may spin at 3600 rpm with no problem but the duty factor is the limiting unit to go by. My electrical engineering friend informed me that VFDs send...

    NMTA 40 vs CAT 40

You could do that but just thread the top 1/2in or so. The nut on the K&T I have is about twice as long as a standard 1in nut only about 1/2 of it is hex to fit down inside not as far as yours bout the same idea. Richard

    NMTA 40 vs CAT 40

Gordon, You hold the pinned nut and tighten the "adjustment" nut to pull the tools in. No adjustment needed. Richard

    NMTA 40 vs CAT 40

My draw bar for my K&T, uses 50 taper, has a threaded section and a nut at the rear of the draw bar. There is also a fixed nut pinned at the very end of the bar. This allows me to use NMTB, CAT50, or 40 taper tooling with adapter. The draw bar also has 1in and 5/8in threads on the pull end...

    Wood Base Finish

I make my own "Danish" oil the base mix is 1/3 boiled linseed oil 1/3 poly, I like Minwax, 1/3 thinner. This works great for penetrating the wood and can be over coated with poly or built up with 6 or 8 coats by itself. To keep brush marks out of poly use the highest quality natural brushes...

Seeking Drawings for Yacht Signal Cannon

Jenny, being across the pond I can't help with legal advise. Over here anyone citizen can legally make firearms for their own use, under federal law. Though state/local law may not allow you to own the firearm you just made. As for "proofing" the cannon look to a good gunsmith especially...

    Solidworks for Mac?

John, the "Windows experience number" is a single number that compares how fast a machine is. It also take into account how well hardware is integrated. It is good for shopping, the sales person can show you how to get the number. They like to show off how fast the machines are. Richard

    Online old engine(s) auction.

Each state is different. Texas the seller signs the title over to the new owner and keeps the tags. That makes sure the new owner registers the car in their name. Before titles a hand written bill of sale was all that was needed. With the title you put the odometer reading on sign and your...

Norm, I am a Douglas the family tree on this side of the pond is well documented. The Deccan William Douglas is of some fame in the family in New England in the 1600's, but whom his father was is a great mystery both here and to the Douglas family in Scotland. DNA studies being conducted to...

Norm, I stand corrected it was the speed at which you could drive. 140 was as fast as he wanted to go. I saw that when I went to click on the post in my in box I clicked on your user instead. That you are Just North of Hadrian's Wall. Does that put you in Scotland? That is one place I...
