Hello Brian and others Little machine shop (littlemachineshop.com) carries metal replacement gears and parts for many of these import lathes and mills. It may be worth a look. You can call them by phone also. I have been very happy over the years with their service...

    raym/rupinow vert hit & miss

Hi I have been following your build I'm a little confused by your exhaust valve cam timing in the photographs. Shouldn't the small gear be on the crankshaft? Steve

Does anyone recognise this as an engine?

Does anyone recognise this as an engine?

In my opinion, it is a beam engine. for the small shaft to be driving the flywheel makes no sense. if the small shaft is driving the larger the gear ratio would be the opposite. the flywheel is the small gear driving a larger gear on an output shaft. It would not be producing much power for...

    CNC controller

Centroid Acorn Is my choice by far. I have been in cnc for over 15 years and started with mach3. The mills and plasma/ routers I have built have always worked well but the mach3 lathe was a pain to get threading properly. Mach3 was at it's end and could not be fixed so new owners made mach4. I...

    USB Control Board for MACH3

Glad to help you Edi One of the things I just love is automatic tool measurement. I made an insulated touch off part to fit in the chuck and once you set up your master tool all others will automatically touch off and set their offsets. Have fun Steve

    USB Control Board for MACH3

I have a 9x20 lathe on mach3 and parallel that would not work on a USB uc100 controller. USB is not real time and will loose sync threading. My new lathe, I just built is a 11x26 with a Centoid Acorn controller that is amazing. It has real cnc lathe features because it is made by a company...

    Yulee Sugar Mill Model

I think I'm going to travel there on Monday and spend a few days in the area trying to talk to someone and your advice is very sound. A lot of people think things like this are just toys. There is also a privately owned museum across from the mill site that is full of old printing presses from...

I have been trying to contact the Citrus County Florida Historical Society to donate the model to the citizens of Homosassa. I am guessing they don't check their email often and will post their reply when I have more information. steve

    Yulee Sugar Mill Model

I'm sorry for a slow reply The history of the mill and David Yulee are something I know quite a bit about. In order to determine the appearance of the missing parts I studied everything I could find from many manufactures, engines and this owner. Davis Yulee owned a 30,000 acre plantation with...

    My backyard metal working shop

hi Dickeybird I have both the Denford Micromill and Microturn and once seeing the board was proprietary I converted them both to tb6560 boards. the mill is now 4 axis. I'm using mach3 on everything and a uc100 usb controller on my zx45 mill. It took a while to get things organized, I now can do...
