Mounting a dial indicator in a spindle?

I think you need what is called a TEST indicator--not a DIAL indicator (even though both have dials). The former has a small, pivoting finger, that you can fit into holes. There is also hole attachment that you can use with a DIAL indicator that will allow it to be used in a fasion similar to at...

    Ac-dc tig welder

I got the Eastwood tig 200 about a month ago. I'm an absolute beginner. Have not overloaded the machine yet--I either dip a tungsten or the torch itself gets too hot first. :) Argon bottle was $175 purchased. Exchange for refills run about $35-40 for a 125cf tank. Found another shop that says...

    Howdy From Houston Tx.

Howdy from Houston as well... Please check out http://www.homemetalshopclub.org/. We meet 2nd saturday every month. The old-timers that attend have forgotten more than I'll ever know and there's a beginners topic at the end of every meeting.

    Camera Mounts

GoPro? Bravo if it only took you a "few" hours. They look great and will far outlast the plastic versions the camera comes with. Mine attempts took days. Could not get the 1st one in your pic to work either out of aluminum nor HDPE. Aluminum was too tough to bend and clamp properly and the HDPE...

    Sieg X2 motor-problem.. SOLVED

That particular board is a 110V version. KB makes 220V versions as well--just might be a bit harder to find. KBIC-240 is the 240 volt version. But at that voltage it puts out up to 180V DC and that would not be too good for your X2 motor which is only rated up to 130V DC.

    Sieg X2 motor-problem.. SOLVED

If you're in the US, instead of a $72 board I would hunt on ebay for a kblc-19pm board as mentioned here: http://szabaga.com/x2/power/ FWIW, my X2 has intermittent start problems too. I suspect the POT more than anything. Usually turning it off and back on will get it going. I've got one of...

    Almost tool-less mini-lathe change gears

Credit for Gadget builder: http://gadgetbuilder.com/MiniMods.html#GearKnobs Still can't find out who had the idea for replacing the B&C shaft.

    Almost tool-less mini-lathe change gears

I saw the idea for this somewhere else but I searched and searched and couldn't find where. So it's not my original idea but it does work: Parts: The "knurled knobs" are made from a piece of splined shaft I got from the scrappy. The grip is pretty good. How the B and C shaft is assembled...

    Mini Lathe Caution

I would go the hose-clamp route if you have room to work with. That should get you up and running long enuf to make a new nut.
