Neat tool. My only fear would be securing the mill with a setscrew...Any variance at all in the diameters,and the tool is sharpened off center,and then when you run it in a mill in a collet,it's cutting on one side of the mill more than the other.Any way you can put a collet setup on spindle?

I have had similar situations where I either staked the end of a nut with a chisel to make a locknut,or crossdrill/tap the nut on a corner and put a small setscrew with a bit of nylon under it to adjust tension.2 cheap Redneck fixes.

I also wouldn't pay that much for a coil.Go to your local discount auto parts store(or even ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/BRAND-NEW-IGNITION-COIL-FOR-BMW-BUICK-CADILAC-CHEVY-CHRYSLER-DODGE-GMC-/222000840751?hash=item33b048002f:g:-2cAAOSw5dNWn~46&vxp=mtr),and ask for a coil for a 50,60,70's...

Not steam related,but you could make a miniature "sky needle" ride like in Seattle(or wherever),and have it go up/down :-)

Put it on a desk with a nice,quiet,electric motor running a fan,small windmill,pencil sharpener,etc.It' just too damn pretty to do nothing:thumbup:

Why not a keyway and key?Seems like is would be a lot less work than tapers and all that drilling/tapping?

Ghosty, How are you able to determine that the intake springs are too stiff?I thought it sounded pretty darn good.I watched your vids for the 2nd and 3rd run,and it tends to "miss" to my ears there too?:confused:

I realize this is a 5yr old post,but I am most interested in your spring setup.Were they purchased or made?If made,are they hardened/tempered,and what was the material?I'm contemplating a build that uses 1/4 elliptical springs,but am lost on their manufacture.Anyone's input will help.Thank You!
