    found on craigslist

To me it would only be worth maybe $20 just for parts or to modify for a single use, maybe a small surface grinder if the speed is good.

Looking good there. I hope the man door is wider than it looks. Big machinery likes big doors.

    Hello from Eire

Howdy there, Bob. Looks like a nice engine to me. I'm new to small engines and haven't built one yet. From all the studying I have done here I see my list growing for the tooling I need to get first. I can see this becoming an addiction. :hDe: Maxx

    Help with glass DRO scales

I put glass scales on my mill about 6 months ago. The plastic piece that secures the read head to the scale was about the same thickness you listed. The install specs for mine called for a .004 gap between the read head and the scale body. I actually went a bit wider .010 and it reads just fine.

Started adding a DRO to my lathe

I picked up some iGaging scales for my lathe. First up is the carriage scale but the bed rail isn't parallel to the machined backside of the carriage. I need an angle plate to mount the ends of the scale to, gosh how do I figure the angle? I have an idea! I'll use my new iGaging Angle Cube I...

Cutting Speed and RPM on the Lathe and Mill

Spotted this video on YouTube, I see it is made by a member of another forum. It gives basic sound advice and gets you in the ballpark. I keep a hand written chart on my wall and had forgotten the basic formula so it is a good refresher. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIUS_0xfeGg

    Building the Economy engine

You put the ring in the bore use the top of the piston to make sure the ring is sitting square in the bore. Then use feeler gauge to check the gap of the ends. If the gap is too tight lightly file the end and recheck the gap. 4 thousandths is 0.1016 mm.
