CNC G code basics explained part 2 !

Thanks blighty. You get it, F is the FEED for G1 & G2/G3. I ran 60 and 15 in the video I guess. G0 speed is defined by the CNC soft and you can adjust it. This machine can reach 700 inches / min (way too much) need to take care of collision ! It was set up for the video at 400 inches/min Laurent

Power tapping without reversible drill press

I bought it on ebay.com for about 250 boxes. Check this link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Taping-Head-Kits-Self-Reversing-Taping-Tool-M5-M12-Tapping-Equipemnt-/400445871956?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d3c6f1754 There is several devices size depending on tapping range. Do not be afraid about...

Power tapping without reversible drill press

Hi all, Tapping is a regular needed operation for us. If your drill press is like mine (unreversible spindle) there is an amazing device that is great for auto tapping. It needs some cares but is largely useful. I put all informations inside this video...

CNC G code basics explained part 2 !

Hi all, I did recognize that my previous topic had a large views and I was asked many questions about G code. So I create a new video with a special imperial example that fits to your usual units but I remain very simple no G76 . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhTCxs2Np1M hope it will...

    CNC G code basics explained

i xypylonracer, Thanks for the input. Indeed G code is able to make a lot of different things like absolute / inc mode, also metric and imperial, tool diameter and length compensation, peek drilling cycle, circular interpolation and so many interesting stuff. Hep, could be a great new video...

    CNC modification remote control cooling

Hi all, As I mill more and more aluminium, I needed a proper cooling system. So I modified my CNC and make a video on the How to. I can either control it with my computer or directly with the CNC controller and inside G-code file. I guess it can make some interesting informations for other...

Succeed in the 3D CNC aluminium propeller milling

Thanks canadianhorsepower. I started with PyCAM (free soft) but the second layer failed and crash the end mill. So I gone with CUT 3D from Vectric ( commercial) but very simple.

Succeed in the 3D CNC aluminium propeller milling

Thanks JWCNC1911. I already created a jig it with 4 pins ( on my channel it is the part #3 of the propeller milling) and did the back side. Will post the video next week. Regarding the surface finish, I did not have received the proper end mill at time and use a too small one. Laurent

Succeed in the 3D CNC aluminium propeller milling

Hi all, Really appreciate all the support from many of you and I would not let this project stand alone. I made some analysis and testings and I found a good solution, as the machine is different from a regular CNC Lol. Would not let you miss the result of the top face CNC milling...

    Slow motion CNC broken tool

Thanks Wizard69. I share the idea of fire. WD40 is a great idea, I will definetly try it. The other point link to the compatibility of the coating is great to consider. I do not know if this end mill has one and if it is ok for aluminium. Will check with the supplier. Thanks.

    Slow motion CNC broken tool

Thanks dman for informations. I know the vortex tube and it is great but just eat huge ton of air lol. I use a Koolmist nose and the temperature looks like pretty good but I do not use coolant. Alcohol is adviced sometimes but I will be afraid of a fire. I heard it is use with 50% water to cut...

    Slow motion CNC broken tool

Thanks dieselpilot for your inputs. Cooling and lubricant have to be managed with high care because my CNC is made from plywood ( lol ). Agree with the plunge speed, I discovered that my CAM soft manage speeds in the same value for all the axis (damn). So I had to modify "by hand" the Gcode...
