Looking for a little advice about an I.C. engine

Thanks everyone for your views and suggestions. Yesterday I printed out the Webster plans and have started compiling a list of materials I need to get started. It will probably take me quite awhile to get much done to post any kind of progress. I seem to always have about 15 projects going at...

Bandsaw Blade, Where do you get yours?

I broke down and purchased a new band saw from HF last week and have been using it quite a bit. I went through and did all the adjustments from the 4x6 yahoo group and it seems to work great. Everything I have read says to replace the blade with a good one and ditch the one that came with it...

Looking for a little advice about an I.C. engine

I think my next machine project will be a I.C. engine. I am debating between the Webster and the PowerHouse. One of my eventual goals is to build the Farm Boy Hit-&-Miss so I was thinking I should make the PowerHouse to get familiar with Jerry E. Howell plans, but I have seen some great write...

    Metal stock

Milotrain it sounds like you have a good potential to help people out and make few extra bucks in the process. Also if you do come up with the info for the metal supply company that would be spectacular. Thanks, Chris.

    Hello From Kansas

Welcome Kevin! I grew up just up the road from you in Burlington Kansas. Unfortunately I no longer reside in the great state of Kansas. My family still lives in Burlington as they have for generations so I do make it back that way from time to time. Welcome aboard, Chris.

    Cabin Fever Pictures

I am glad you all enjoyed the pictures. Last year when I went it was my first time and I was in such awe that I forgot to take pictures. By the time I remembered there were too many people to try to go back through and take some. So this year I made sure to take lots of pictures. I am just happy...

    Cabin Fever 2011

I couldn't make it there today. Will there be very many exhibitors tomorrow/Sunday? I am planning to drive the 2-3 hours and don't want to get there a 9am to a empty building. Last year I made it there on Saturday and enjoyed myself but this year I have a Saturday class at school and couldn't...

Brian Builds the Kerzel Hit and Miss I.C.

I am not sure of the thickness or size of the Corian that you need, but Home Depot has samples in their kitchen design area here in the states. That is their acrylic counter top that they sell. If you have a big orange box store in your area you might stop in and see.

Where to place your lathe and mill?

Today I worked on tramming the mill. I think it went ok, it was really hard to get it be the same reading when I would swing the arm side to side. I am not sure but I believe the table is a little lower in the back than it is in the front. Is there a way to go about fixing this? I went ahead and...

Where to place your lathe and mill?

;D Those are the little buttons that screw onto the bottom of the vise. I think they are supposed to help keep it square in the track, but I really don't know how to mount the vise yet.

Where to place your lathe and mill?

Today I went to work on cleaning up the red stuff. I have a feeling that I will find that red stuff for years to come. I also adjusted the gibs and oiled the flat surfaces with way oil. I also broke in the spindle. While the spindle was breaking in I unpacked some of the boxes of stuff I...

Where to place your lathe and mill?

Doubletop, I am ready to get started on something, but I am still a long ways away from making chips but I have made some progress. Here are some pictures of the progress. I ended up moving one of the outlets under the table and put a waterproof cover on it. I also put a waterproof cover on the...

Where to place your lathe and mill?

Thank you doubletop for the link I had not found that one yet. I broke down today and bought a cherry picker or some call it a shop crane to help get the mill up there. I may still have to do it in pieces as I am not sure that I will have enough height to clear the table all together. Hopefully...

Where to place your lathe and mill?

Thanks doubletop, the mill came in and is sitting in the garage now, it is bigger than I thought it would be. I am doing some mods to make it safer for me and others and hopefully more user friendly. Here a couple of pictures for now.
