    35cc "V" Twin

Looking good mate! Why not just add the extra relief to the pistons in the correct direction? I can't see any downside to having the side relief as well, most full size engines relieve the sides of the pistons to decrease friction.

The main thing I've used my little 10" shaper for is just flattening large surfaces

    Ford 300 Inline Six

Wow! That before and after blasting pics of the valve cover lettering really show how much of a difference that process makes to the appearance of the parts. I am following along very closely as I'm currently part way through building a CNC router and have aspirations to use it to make some...

30cc Inline Twin 4-stroke Engine based on Westbury's Wallaby

Great idea bonding the cylinder head together from 2 parts! Roy Amsbury's V8 used a built up cylinder head as well, though it's silver soldered brass, so it has been done before successfully :)

What a fantastic project. I'm eagerly awaiting each new installment, and learning lots just by seeing how you've made each part. Keep it up! Andrew

    searching any DOHC 4Valve Head

I designed this engine up in some free time, but it's a completely theoretical design. No idea if it would work or not. If you want I can see if I still have the Solidworks files for it. The rest of the engine isn't great, but I was pretty happy with the modelling of that cylinder head...

    Model locomotive 5" gauge

I'll vote for the Blowfly as a great first locomotive. It has slip eccentric valve gear, the axle boxes ride in the frames, it's an 0-4-0. Many little touches to make it simpler to build.

    My Sidewinder Buggy project

Your welcome B :) I have tried welding aluminium... at first it didn't go very well but I watched a short DVD on the process which taught me a lot (12mm arc length. I was using around 5mm and it wasn't working well). I'm still pretty rubbish at it. It's great fun though, much more precise than...

    My Sidewinder Buggy project

The engine sprocket is inline with the swingarm pivot so there is no stress in the chain (in theory). It seems to work quite well. Heehee, that's not a MIG welder, its an AC/DC TIG welder. My new toy!

    My Sidewinder Buggy project

Hey everyone, just thought I'd give a little update to those who were following this project. I've pretty much completed the buggy. I've taken it apart and painted the frame. All that's left to do is to paint the suspension parts, reassemble, and then a couple of odd jobs like wiring... Here's...

    Newb Questions: Shaper

I also have a Douglas 10" Shaper ($600 ebay) and have to admit that I haven't really used it very much. It works perfectly, but I find it takes AGES to set up the table support perfectly square, and then to lower the table down ever so slightly onto the support so it's square to the ram's...
