    How BIG is yours?

    I was over to my shop today and after seeing this thread I stepped off and got around 600 sq. ft. all together.. I share the shop with my wife's brother-in-law and his brother.. They just store cars in there 1/3.. Shop includes water, power, trash dumpster and a bathroom...Costs us $100 bucks...

    That would be true if only turning the engine around 2500 rpm. Also we are talking normally aspirated engines. If you add nitrous and or blower/supercharger totally different formula. Bill

    Me and my older brother Tore up more stuff than a little bit when we were young..One I will never forget was painting our bicycles with dads new fangled paint gun.. We cleaned out the paint gun as we had seen dad do with a full cup (almost a quart) of paint thinner.. Dumped that down the drain...

    Cubic inches * Max RPM = X X divided by 3,456 = Y Y divided by Volumetric Effiency (on normal size engines this number is around .85) = Z Z = Required Carb size in CFM The size of your carb will have to flow at least this much air.. Hope this helps...Bill

    You could get on the Blue ridge parkway Near Hillsville or even Roanoke if you wanted .. it will take you all the way to Front Royal.. Very scenic but speed limit is 45 ..

    Scale question

    I'm familiar with what scale means but I thought maybe someone would know if the engine was like 1/2 scale of a 5 hp of yesteryear or maybe 1/2 scale of a 10 hp ?? just curious is all... A friend of mine has a bunch of these full size ill try and get to his house and do some measuring on them...

    I have used adjustable reamers and they do a decent job for me but i always follow them with an AL lap and lapping compound..If you only need to remove less than .001 I would consider making an AL lap and using lapping compound.. The adjustable reamer will work but finish might not be what you...

    I dont know about model engine carbs but I know plenty about Holley's.. I do know for sure that a carb set up for gas will not work for alcohol.. It takes almost two times as much alcohol compared to gas to go thru the carb.. Im only mentioning this wondering if the problems people have with...
