a lot of metal suppliers are using the Trump tariff to justify raising prices since imports are non competitive.

    Scrooge style Milling machine

Kudos to you guys for being active and trying... Just be gentle and careful. We've all had close calls and drill press mills can be dicey at best. I'm also running out of room but know I need a dedicated mill. I have a 3 in 1 and keep running out of travel to do make anything useful. Having...

    Shop lights

I have had LED light fixtures in my garage for a couple years now. I will never go back! The light never needs a "warm up" period in the winter and never gets hot in the summer. They use less power and produce more light! I want more of them! The fixtures are becoming an inexpensive thing...

bandsaw 4x6 quick lockdown for miter cuts

I got tired of looking for tools and having to reach under to lock down the miter clamp for cutting angles on the 4x6. So couple upgrades: I took some hex rods and cut a piece off to make a locking nut. Then I got a ratcheting handle from Harbor Freight and pressed it into the bolt on...

Repairs and Improvements; Part 2 - miter lock nut

90 degree stop - to quickly set the right angle for the miter clamp on the band saw For stock I used the work "stop" they provide with the saw. I never use it and it's cast iron and the paint matches the saw! Bonus. Sawed using the newly fixed clamp... milled flats, drilled and tapped...

Repairs and Improvements to my HF 4x6 bandsaw

Its been a while since I posted anything. Here are some things I've been up to: I busted my nut on the band saw. HF did not carry replacement and looked like the best thing to do was to repair. Here's what I did. I called Grizzly but was not sure if the acme threads would match. I...

    My man cave

Wow that's cool... transformed into two machines. Yep... mine's a starter... never machined before in my life. I'm liking the lathe on my 3 in 1. I think a dedicated Mill would definitely be useful. It's not just the set up... the size constraint is quite limiting.
