    Zanesville

I must admit some frustration in hearing the Zanesville show happened. There were no notices saying it's coming, up whose going. A search online got me last year's poster, nothing related to this year. I thought it went away like NAMES. Art

    270 Offy

Terry, I have been following along but haven't said much. I just wanted to say that in talking to guys that have built the Offy they know its time to shut it down when they see bubbles in the top coolant line. That is the sign its getting hot. I'm glad that you were able to do a compression test...

What I have found on my Upshur after using 2 Perry carbs and the single jet carb in the drawings. The stock carb was fine but. If you ran it at a higher rpm you had to open up the jet, then close it to idle. A .198 Perry was to big, yes it ran but, if you opened the throttle to fast it would...

    Werowance attempts Upshur Vertical Single

Werowance, I must admit with work and other stuff going on I am only now getting caught up with your build. I have to say I am glad I did my cam as a one piece unit and not assemble it. In post 392 you have the print showing where the cam is to be located. My suggestion would be if you loctite...

When I originally made mine, I had no CAD or CNC mill and I made shims to center the crank. In my rebuild I did everything in cad to the center line of the case. Hopefully it will come out as expected, Dead center. I still haven't heard from my nephew about the computer rebuild for my mill. Art

Rebuild time for my Upshur single

Ok, I had grandiose plans to work on the rod over the holiday weekend. Turned on the switch that turns on and off the computer and pop. Talked to my nephew and ordered a new power supply in hopes that was all that was wrong with it. I think it'll be here in a few days, then I will find out. Art

Hey Steve, I think I can help with that, I've got a video from the 2019 Zanesville show. Art

Rebuild time for my Upshur single

Steve, Thanks, It was a bit of work and experimenting to get a working program. I originally made a rectangle in Alibre roughly the width of the cam ran one pass ti clean up the surface. Then I posted it and added the 180 steps. When I realized it was going to take 17 seconds to rotate 2 degrees...

Rebuild time for my Upshur single

Hi everyone, After some problems I now have a new cam. I had the program written two weekends ago but, I had some problems with my mill and couldn't run it. I couldn't zero the Z axis on the mill. I had even run the program an inch above the part, dropped it down & had to shut it down before it...

    270 Offy

Terry, I have been lurking during this build. I have Ron's book as well and have much of the engine drawn up in Alibre. This process has taken me about 2 years. Before starting on this journey I had never done an assembly. There is so much about CAD I don't understand or forget by the time I use...

Rebuild time for my Upshur single

Please stand by we are experiencing technical difficulties. I think I sorted out all the issues to run my cam machining program then the mill went funny. I couldn't zero the Z axis. So I am planning to reinstall PathPilot and all the updates then see what it does. My nephew had it and mailed it...

Rebuild time for my Upshur single

werowance, Thanks, It did take some doing but the end result turned out quite well. I just threw together some ideas from my understanding of an automotive muffler. I just hope it works as well as it looks. Art

Rebuild time for my Upshur single

Ok, I did get the cam blank done but I will go into that more later. I don't want to go back between the two forums to figure what I have and haven't covered. So to keep in order and not confuse myself, what I did next was the muffler. I used the same program on the mill to machine brackets to...

Andy, Thanks, I've got the gear pressed onto the crank so that's done. But I want to turn the blank for the cam. My aim for the weekend is to finish the cam. Art
