    V4 Valve timing question

Hi folks- I'm in the midst of, I guess you could say, re-designing the wheel, but I'm trying to figure out the valve timing/firing order for a V4. I've spent a lot of time going over the geometrical aspects using a firing order of 1-3-4-2 (See attached PDF file for the layout), but something...

    Parksy's v4

Here is what I've gathered so far (I think): Cylinder numbering is (left to right and left to right) 1,2 and 3,4 the two pairs sharing two crank journals 180 opposed, where the firing order is 1-3-2-4. #1 fires first (I'll assume that to be 0 degrees), then #3 at 180, #2 at 270, then #4 180...

Is Parksy still around? I'm curious to know a little more about the firing order and valve timing on this V4.

    Parksy's v4

Does anybody know why I can't see any of Parksy's posted photographs? All I can see is some Photobucket notice. Thanks.

    Another Jan Ridders joint

Still nothing, Ralph. Having a devil of a time with the valves, more namely the little springs that hold the valves to the cylinder head. Very difficult to make them seal while not adding a ton of friction. Thinking about a possible re-design in this area.

    Another Jan Ridders joint

Here is my latest engine, compliments of a design by Jan Ridders. It still is yet to run, and as I understand it might take a little doing to get it to do so. Looks real cute tho! Richard
