    Back in the shed after quite a long time the machines and tooling all checked over ...material ordered and while waiting I stripped down the boiler and 10v and score... the boiler is a stuart 504...some photos hopefully to follow... John.

    Is it possible for you to gently heat the quill while keeping the chuck cold... that worked for me when my 2/3 shell taper got stuck. John.

    Hi Dave, I have the industrial standard Speed 10 out of a technical college...looking at it, it would take quite a lot of heat to melt the parts you mentioned...my immediate thought would be to forgo the idea of making parts and thorougly check out your machine has not warped or twisted...

    exp. design for a dbl. acting mini. hydraulic cylinder

    Hi Hobby, why not ''freeze fit'' the piston shaft to rhe piston...make the hole for piston shaft a couple thou under, gently heat piston, spray end of shaft with liquid nitrogen, fit shaft into hole and it wont be moving from there any time soon. All the best for now, John.
