    Multi cylinder CDI

The two coils firing both cyls of a 2 cyl 4cycle engine has been used in regular autos, at least it was in my NSU Sport Prinz. It used regular points to break the primaries of the two coils (I believe they were in series) each coil wired to a plug. So one cyl was at the end of exhaust as the...

    Parting tool question

I've tried the "taper the front" of the cut-off tool many times and it still leaves a bit of the ring. I think it's about impossible to get it clean. The cutoff part starts to swing before it gets clear off and tears a bit with it. This has all been with aluminum, may be a bit better with steel...

    finaly

The problem you'll run into very quick is, the magnet must be moving past the coil at a high speed. On Model engines the size reduction makes that, if not impossible almost so. Both size and, usually, slower RPM. IF youre model runs as fast as a chain saw will probably work just fine. :-)...

    Graying Hobbies

OK :-) Here goes: CNC is just the beginning of the "slippery slope" to end of a lot of this hobby machining.. When the main effort toward producing a mechanical part is the "programming" of a computer to do the work, how long will it be till it's all done by the computer with voice input...

    E-Bay did it again!

I think it's called "make work". The (?webmasters) or whatever they are called have to keep making changes to justify their positions. The same thing is happening to ALL the programs on your computer. :-( My browser, anti-virus, firewall etc programs take longer and longer to load every...

    Cooling Fins vs. Water Jackets

Opinions Please Brigeport J head 9x42

I can never remember these letter versions, but the step pulley heads are what I would prefer (over the "varydrive" ones) . We have 4 of them at school and I love them. I would have preferred a 3 phase with a VFD but the selection of pulley ratios and the high- low range works fairly fast once...
