    Darracq 25HP 1/4 Scale Model

That's some beautiful work. It's amazing what you do with the step off chart.

    What is it?

They look like screw jack's. Looks like the previous owner made them for a specific job. Usually the top is flat.

Pete Menger Model Engine & Hobby Show, Monroeville, IN - October 14, 2023

George! I think that was vendor space. Exibitor spaces are the same first come, first serve as usual.

Cutting a cam with radiused flanks

If you are trying to make big power you might want to also see what existing cams measure. Lift, Duration, lobe seperation, all have an effect on performance. Is this guy also providing seperation numbers also? even advancing and retarding cam timing can have an effect on torque and HP. Hats off...

Cutting a cam with radiused flanks

That spreadsheet just calculates the height you cut for a given degree to form the lobes. You have to know the Base circle, nose radius and flank radius to use the spreadsheet.

Cant blame covid. There have been years where the show could have gone on.

I have it on good athority. Even people who sit on the board have very little hope that there will be another show.

Sorry art. I posted 2 weeks before asking who is going. The car and airplane part of the show were well exhibited. Just the models were pretty light.

The show thus year was a bit of a let down. Only seemed to be about 1/3rd of the exhibitors. Was the same day as the black hills show. I'm sure that didn't help. Maybe 25 tables. If not for the RC planes and model railroad exhibits the hanger would have looked empty. The spectator side was...

CNC Mach 3 Parallel port replacement

If your system is working fine, why change it. My computer was 27 years when I started having issues. I started using the computer as a controller in 2006 and it ran Mach3 flawlessly until just a few months ago. From 2006-2023 I didn't spend a single dime on it so I figured a new computer was...

CNC Mach 3 Parallel port replacement

If you are just starting out go straight to Mach4. Developement on Mach3 has ended. Mach4 is just as capable and contines to be refined. I think the latest version is only weeks old. You will want to upgrade eventually and if you have a lathe it will be very soon. Start with Mach4

    Mach4 here i come!

Mach4? I would say yes. If its like Mach3 everything works as it should but only 500 lines of code would be exacuted and it stops. With Mach4 I purchased the license when I downloaded the software for the lathe. I had no reason to believe it wouldn't do what I needed. It was a huge improvement...

    Mach4 here i come!

Well without knowing the issues you had with it I cant say but I can tell you that after some research and asking questions on forums it runs the mill just like mach3 did with no problems. The only thing I havent been able to figure out is how to enable jogging with the keyboard when the...
