Does anyone know what happened to Shelf Pet models? I was thinking about their Frisco standard kits but when I went to look tonight the site was gone. I want to grab one if I still can before they're gone too. Bob

I looked at their website recently, about a month ago, and the Frisco Standard twin was available.

Someone said they are having website issues.

Here is the link that is suppose to be for the Frisco Standard twin.
I think it will reappear when they get their website fixed.

Just a follow up. Looks like Shelf Pet is done. I bought the last semi complete kit of a Frisco Standard. If you are thinking about getting something grab it while you can, the vendors are dropping fast.

I am glad there are still companies like Littlelocos around.
I hope to see them expand their offerings.

The Myers website is still active, and they have a number of offerings.

I am encouraged by the number of hobby folks who have learned 3D modeling, and have become very adept at it.

3D printing has come a long way too, and that helps with printing patterns.

If and when I retire, or slow down with the work stuff, I am going to make the patterns for a Ball Hopper Monitor, with a 10" diameter flywheel.
I may farm out some castings to someone who runs an iron foundry.
The Ball Hopper Monitor is an iconic design, and casting kits for it need to be created again.

I can make my own gray iron castings, but I don't plan on selling them.
I am open to farming out casting work to foundries though, just to keep some of the rare kits available.

this is precisely why I hope a museum of model engine patterns can be created for models from out-of-business companies, and the patterns digitized so folks would be able to 3-D print them and have their own castings made.

the Frisco Standard casting set is a perfect example of one that I personally would like to have custom cast so I can build it. (also their Red Devil).
