Diesel Kitty Cat

Every morning my kitty is waiting to lead me to my shop because I have surely forgotten how to get there. Then she hops up into my computer chair because I obviously have a need to pet a kitty in my shop. And this continues throughout the day except for when she is sleeping, which is actually most of the time.

Luckily (well, not really), my wife can't smell things very well, or I know I would be hearing, "How come the kitty smells like diesel fuel?"

Cats can be a lot of fun.

We adopted this chow hound.

Not sure if he is a cat or a mountain lion, but he does like to eat (a lot).

edit- Eats a lot? Like squirrels, rabbits, dogs, other cats, and small children?

But hopefully it just sticks to the stuff that comes in a bag.

Wow, I am glad that has never happened to anyone, 'cause it really sounds like a mess. But if it did, at least with my cat, she loves to be brushed with a shed-ender brush and the loose fur almost comes off in handfuls. A few brushing sessions and no one would be the wiser, and you (or whoever, he he) would have a very happy cat.

I had a kitty who liked to sit on my keyboard, or in a toolbox, or the workbench whenever I tried working on those things. She was a great distraction. Now I have some kitties in my barn who refuse to leave unless I feed 'em (or start my air compressor). At least they remind me that quitting (feeding) time is at around 6...

Very enjoyable having them around.

Cats are much better at training humans, than humans are at training cats. FACT.

Yes, cats are a lot of fun to have around (usually) and can take away some of the boredom if that is an issue. Like dogs, they have such personalities.

Ah yes, the air compressor can be such a surprise to the unsuspecting. In my old shop, my wife swore that I had a secret remote start button so that the compressor started whenever she got near it. But that is NOT true.

Our two cats like to come into the workshop and sit on the seats of motorcycles, expecting attention from me.
Both of them prefer to sit on the Triumph Tigers (a '53 T100 and a '72 T100R), which seems apt.

Here is one of our old plus-size kitties. She is not trying to look fierce, that is just a big yawn.
"See, there is plenty of room in here for me. But it would be really comfy if you moved all of the junk out of the way."

I am jealous! Neither of my cats will join me in the garage. They are happy to go out in the garage to search for bugs, lizards, or the occasional mouse, but as soon as I come out to work, they run back inside.

Dogs have owners, cats have "staff"

Our dog knows where I am in the shop... he will bring my wife to find me.
Sometimes even when I'm not there, he brings my wife to look for me.

Yes, I believe that is known as "Lassie Syndrome" amongst medical professionals. My cat has a variation of that.
I get up and am in the shop before my wife wakes up, and a few times each morning the kitty will come meowing and yoweling into the shop, but she isn'ttrying to tell me that "Timmy fell down the well", instead, she is trying to tell me that my wife might have died in her sleep last night , and I better come back and check.

One of our cats will wait at the top of the stairs until I get up, and then start yowling piteously, as though she has been suffering in agony all night long. Note that she doesn't do this when my wife gets up (considerably before me), only when I get up. I feel so special ...

Green Twin, did you ever put that itty bitty kitty on a scale? I took our cat to the vet the other day and showed the vet the pic of your kitty.......... and she gasped. She was impressed, and a bit shaken, ha ha!

My wife thinks Buddy is about 25 lbs.

He is a big boy for sure, but is the most gentle of all the cats we have (5 total).

He does not bite for any reason, which is unusual for a cat.

One has to remember to support both ends when you pick him up, else you can overstress him.

And he likes attention, unlike some of the other cats who generally hide somewhere.
