I wonder if some one would sell me a couple of pieces of mild steel and broach a 3/8 square hole in them. They are the crank cheeks for a 9 Cyl radial. the 2 pieces are bolted together and the hole broached so that they are in alignment. Attached is a pic of the dimensions. The steel parts are .500 x 1.625x 3.218.

Pls let me know if you can help and how much it will cost. I cant see spending almost $200.00 on a broach I will only use once.
Thank you
Ron

I might be able to help out. I have the broach in the garage. I would have to look for the steel. I think I used 12L14 for mine.

Where in the orb are you located. I'm in the USA in Michigan just north of Detroit.

That hole is supposed be .188 or .1875. Can’t seem to find out what it is for. I may have to call Lee to find out.

Pm your address. There is a good chance I will have it ready to ship tomorrow. If I do ill get it sent out as soon as possible. Once I know shipping cost you can send a check for that amount or PayPal plus a couple bucks to cover the PayPal fees. Metal was free. Spent about an hour on it so labor is free. 3 screws were free. Just shipping buddy.

Wow ,Thanks so much. Pm coming.
Will use Paypal

Steve, I figured out what the .188 hole is for . It is an alignment hole to align the crank cheeks and the drilling jig to drill the oil passages for the master rod journal and the crank shaft.

You can buy tubing with square hole.
I have also used impact sockets too they can machine for a press fit.
