I am looking for homes for these items from my father's shop, in most cases I do not know the value, and will be looking for offers. Buyer pays shipping given I do not know where it maybe going. Thanks!

I'm a newcomer to this site and to model engineering and am interested in some of the things you are offering, including this tap and die set and perhaps a set of castings. And it looks like I am just down the road from you, in Menomonie, WI

I saw the same set on E-bay . This was a used set in supposedly good condition. Sold for $100.00.
Your set looks in perfect condition though cannot be sure from a pic.
My nephews are machinists and they said that Stuart is a good set for the money.

Thanks Mike! the feedback is helpful. From looking at the case and the taps and dies, I don't think my Father had used them yet. Bart

The label on the box tells us they were sold by Stuart, during their Guernsey ownership. I think they are likely to be carbon steel, not HSS. I don't think they have anything to do with the Tap and Die Co (which I have always found overpriced whenever I have looked).

Good morning Charles, the taps and Dies have the Totem label on them, how do you check if they are carbon steel or HSS? Thanks for the assistance. Bart

If taps and dies are HSS, they will be etched/engraved with HSS usually on the top, but maybe on the bottom, so your taps and dies are carbon steel. That is not necessarily a bad thing for occasional use, despite what you may hear to the contrary.
