That thing is cute! Is the can spun or machined from solid? Just downloaded the plans, haven't opened them yet since I'm supposed to be doing something else right now. :)

Gents,
This little oilcan is an awesome little project. I built it over a few evenings last week. Hoping to have a video edited and uploaded of he entire process.

Really cute little design, and works a treat!

Body and base was machined from a solid piece of brass bar. (Plan says to use tube and bar. Much less wastage, but I didn't have any tube!)

PS. I never bothered with the handle. It's easier to grab by the body.

Thanks for the plans.

:)

Hey Delalio

I´m happy that someone built my little Oilcan and that it works ! Tells me that the plans are useable. Appreciate!

Have fun with it. 😁

Really cute oil can. I built a copy of the Eagle Oil Can, same principle but bigger.

It was a great little design. There was one section which was a little confusing. I cant remember which bit it was, but I'll check when I'm back in the workshop. Also, the plans didn't easily explain the pipe between the inlet pump and the outlet. Was worked out quite easily, but you may want to make that more explicit.

Otherwise, a great little design, really nice plans, and a great little tool once built. I added a tiny nozzle onto mine from brass and silver soldered (or loctite, I dont remember right now) to a copper pipe for the outlet. It just slips over the pipe on one side, is profiled to a curve and taper, and has a 0.4mm hole as the nozzle. It squirts water quite far too...

Thanks again, and if anybody is considering trying this, its a great little project.

Regards,

Del

If anyone is considering this project, I am in the process of editing some videos of how I made mine. They will be up on my YouTube channel hopefully this coming week... (They do take quite some time to edit.)

Like or comment if you are interested on seeing them, and I'll ping you when they are online.

So I did my first part of the video series. It's the project introduction and plans walkthrough. If you could let me know what u think that would be great.

If you enjoy the video, please give it a like too. And if you want to see more, I'd really appreciate your subscription.

Hope you like it. As always, any feedback is appreciated too.

Cheers, Delalio.

Hey Gents,

Just a small update on this, I've now finished my video series showing my build.

Parts 4 and 5 are below.

Re the plans to download, they were by Stefan-K (Stefan-K) not me. He posted a link to them at the bottom of his post at the start of this thread.

I have no claim on the plans or the skills to produce them. I just followed them to build one.

Please find another link to them here:

I am new to this site (yesterday) and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to download the plans for the mini-oilcan. Can anyone help or send the link to [email protected]

I just completed an operating launch engine from Elderberry Steam Engines. It took me 10 months because I had to learn how to operate a recently acquired Bridgeport Mill in addition to polishing my long dormant lathe skills.
