Hello, I was wondering if someone here can point me in the right direction in my search. I am trying to find blueprints/mechanical drawings of a ranger l440 aircraft engine. Ive been searching all over the internet and can only find pictures of the actual engine and one drawing that shows a side view but only includes cylinder one and six

I purchased some aircraft engine documentation from this firm in the past.

I have read about some build projects where model engineering enthusiasts have located a prior rebuild project or sometimes even just an engine in located in an aeronautical museum, plead their case & been allowed access to reproduce shop manuals if the relationship was particularly good. The logic is sometimes along with the engine donation or procurement, came the 'instruction manual'. They seem to be in a lot of them in museums based on Google hits, so that's encouraging.

I've thought about this a lot actually. Where DO all the factory blueprints go? There must be hundreds if not thousands of drawings for constructing a typical engine. Where do they end up?

Its a neat engine design IMO, present in many recognizable aircraft. I always thought it would make an interesting scale build, but would require some sharp pencil work replicating barstock into the FS castings. Keep us posted on any nuggets you find.
