It seems that I have confused a few members with my post last year, even I got confused at the time.

https://www.homemodelenginemachinist.com/threads/nearly-back-in-the-fold.30444/

To now put things straight, when they operated on me last year, it seems as though a few of the nasty 'C' cells escaped and are now starting to grow in a few other places around my body.

To cut a long story short my oncologist has stated to me that this will be the last Christmas I will be with you.

I am not after sympathy or anything else of that ilk, I have already made my peace and accepted the inevitable. I just need to get my bucket list prepared before I become unable to travel about.

So why this post? Well, it is to help maybe some of you and myself as well.

After the new year I will be moving into my partners home, so that she will be able to look after me when the final time arrives. So up until I move, for people living in the UK, I will be selling off everything in my workshop and outside storage areas before asking one of the traders in as they will only offer me peanuts for it all.

I am in no position or physical state to pack things up and post them, so everything will be pickup, cash sale only.

I have 10's of thousands of pounds worth of tooling, casting sets and machines to get rid of, a lot still packed up in original boxes, never opened. I am not selling any of my engines (I never have done), they are being given away to friends as momentoes.

If you turned up here with a grand in your pocket and wanted to spend it all, you will go away with at least £2K - £3K worth of goods or machinery. Turn up with £20, you will go away with at least double the worth.

There is just too much to list here, lots of Hemingway tooling kits and many nice casting sets, so if you want to find out more, then send me an email

[email protected]

or call me

01270211248 (Crewe, Cheshire).

If anyone needs any pictures from any of my previous posts (even from other sites, Madmodder, MEM etc) that were ruined by the Photobucket fiasco, I have every picture I have ever posted. I should be able to send them to you whichever ones you need by email, so not only from the UK for those.

Please don't send PM's as I might not be able to read them.

Best of luck and happy machining to you all

John

John, I'm so sorry to hear this news. We've all been pulling for you. You have been such a valuable contributor to the ME community....

My prayers and best wishes go to you.

I'm so sorry to hear of this, John. Your projects & pictorials & willingness to help have benefited many of us on the forum. All the best.

This is terrible news John. Thank you for all your contributions over the years. When the day comes, hopefully a long way off, you will be sorely missed.

I've been around now for quite a few years and I've gotten attached to many on all the groups I am saddened every time I hear the news. You are someone that will be truly be missed by me and many others. We have only one life to live and you my friend have lived a very good life. I thank you for all the knowledge you passed on in each and everyone of your builds. Thank you for all you have done on this site and the many others. Just remember you have inspired many to reach a little bit higher. May peace and comfort be yours.

Thank you all fellow members,

I was one of the first members on here many years ago, and it is nice to know that I have influenced a fair few members with my ramblings.
There was nothing new in what I was doing at that time, in fact old books gave me lots of ideas and methods, just that I tended to explain in laymans terms, and sometimes offered different methods to carry out the same process on different machines to myself.
Unfortunately, it seems that this method of showing and explaining things has now diminished and just showing a few pictures have taken over.
It is a shame really, as my method even kept the beginners being taught and entertained, whereas now, unless you know what is going on in the modern types of posts, easy methods that can be followed are being lost, and I am sure, members with very little experience are lost as well because they don't know what is going on in a post.

So thank you all again for your thoughts and I will carry on reading for as long as I am able but I doubt if I will be able to carry on replying

John
