Kerzel timing question

You don't need much ignition advance on a hit and miss engine. Set it up so the plug fires at or about 10 degrees before top dead center when the piston is coming up on compression stroke. If you are talking about exhaust valve timing, set it up so the valve begins to open about 0 to 10 degrees before the piston reached bottom dead center when it is moving down towards bottom dead center on the power stroke.---Brian

Thanks brian! I am at about 1 deg after on ignition and it tries to run but not quite. My exhaust is WAY out according to your suggestion. about 20 deg after bdc....I'll try your way tonight after work. My first try running it was a success just eyeballing the timing. I didn't realize it had ran out of gas when it stopped and I started messing with the timing and botched it up pretty good. maybe a bigger gas tank is in order, Ha HA....
