Hi all ,have been plodding along with rudys steam tractor, but when l got to doing the horn plates l find the 1/32" plate he used is just to thin, did others on here find that ,so l have used 3mm plate and will adjust the plans to suit ,l can under stand using the thin sheet for the fire box wrapper that fits around the boiler casing ,but the rest of it l will upgrade l think, while on the subject of rudys drawings for the boiler ,a mate of mine had a look at the drawing for the boiler an then went an made a boiler of that type for his 1 1/2" scale traction engine he gets about 20 mins running time from it using butane ,makes me wonder about make rudys tractor in that scale after l have finished this one , you all keep safe out there.

Thanks for that, yes have have already had a good look at his fine work and did learn a lot from his work, its funny start talking about rudys tractor and thers more builds out there than you think, one chap mailed me with his version of it,he went up in size to ,but the whole thing example being boiler case 2 inch to 4 inch ,doubled the steam engine side, gears cut from 3/16" plate instead of 1/8" and one nice bit that looked great was owing to the fact he had made it bigger he had added a water sight glass to it that looked the part,he said the only down side to building it bigger was the copper for the bigger boiler cost more plus he went to a six wick burner to get the heat, but that tractor looks real good on its 9" rear wheels, will try and get him to post pictures of the model up .you all take good care.
