So I have a piece of 1.5 inch x 3 x 14 and need a piece 3 inches long. Measure, mark, measure again. Set the saw and walk away. I hear the piece drop, walk over and pick it up. It looks short, only 2inchs long. WTH, measure the long piece, it's 11", certain that it was 14, but must have been 13 to start.

Okay take the piece measure and cut 3". I hear the piece drop, when I pick it off the floor, it is lying next to .... Yes the first 3" piece.

Yup

Hi,

That brings back memories! Done that myself more than once.

Hello, one of my best c-ck ups . Having spent what seemed like ages setting up a steam engine casting in the drill vice, for drilling the steam connecting passages. It had to be spot on, so as not to break into the pivot hole (it was an Tubal Cain ocilator) Excellent I thought new 1/16” drill in the chuck ,proceeds to drill the hole mmm not making much progress. So like a silly sod increases the pressure ? Still no progress? Guess who had put the drill in upside down ?
It does happen! Best regards Tony Wright pufango!
