A basic design with very elegant looks, well done that man.
I personally would prefer to see a lot more engines like this, I think it gives a lot of stimulation to would be model engineers and beginners, something that could easily be made without too much trouble and ending up looking rather unique.
I keep going on about Elmers engines, but with a little bit of work and artistic flair, every one can be made to look great with a unique look that only you can put onto it. The more you make, the better you get at it.

I have just bought the magazine with your engine in so that I can build it. I am a beginner and this will be my second engine. Been busy this morning changing dimensions to metric as my brain and tooling is all metric. Hope I can get it to do ypur design credit. JC

Thanks all for the kind words .If anyone does diside to build one ,do away with the pivot block as shown on the drawings.Just use a bolt as the pivot see photos .There will be sufficient slack to allow for the slight up and down movement of the eccentric rod which replaces the part shown on the original drawing.allso drill the port's using the cylinder as a jig instead of marking them out by hand .

JC54, I have just come across this interesting live steam engine design and wonder if you can send me either any sketches or scanned drawings. The rotating cylinder design is quite a feat. My hobby is basically very tiny electric trains so I built this Z scale layout ( 1:220) some time ago. The Baldwin locomotive was fully designed and built by me. The electric motor as well. Just had time to look at train layout of ron4vt, the scale is amazing. If you are not a model railway "buff" like me, video shows the scale at the end..... Well worth a look..

I'm definitely not a model railway buff and had no idea of the scale until the very end - outstanding work. I even dragged my wife to the screen to watch and while she feigned interest at first, she too was astounded at the end and very appreciative of your efforts. Thanks for the video!
