Hello, I have a poorly made Sun engine, I would very much like to bring it back to life. It as never run at all, I will have to make quite few new parts eg the hole head, valve gear etc. I would be very grateful for a PDF of the machine drawings for the Stuart Turner Sun steam engine or ? I have been in touch with Stuart's and have looked the net over, with no luck?
Many thanks

Try looking a bit harder, I found a high res JPG of the drawing on the net which could be zoomed to give all the sizes needed. That was only a few weeks ago.

Would like to know a bit more about yourself - your location and interests would be a good start.

Then, if you cannot find the drawings on the 'net' after your Thorough search, give me your email address in a PM an I can scan my copy for you.

I have been looking for 4 years and have many pictures, but none are good enough to read the measurements?
I live in New Zealand and have been doing remote control for about 25 years and have been building steam engines and boilers for about 10 years. I have a few Stuart Turner engines, my avatar pic is a 3/4 traction engine i built 2 years ago,the first thing i made with my drill/mill. I have a 2'' Burrell Traction engine that is a work in progress? learning as i go?
Would be very grateful for a copy of the Sun drawing Dave.

Hello
I also need drawings of the Stuart Turner Sun engine having purchased rough base, block and head castings. Jasonb replied in May this year that there were drawings on the net that were high res. I've searched everywhere using all sorts of related terms and found a valve 'piston' drawing only. Can anyone help with a copy or location of the drawings.

This is the one off the net, zoom right in and it can be read

Hello Jasonb,
Thank you for your prompt reply; compared with taking dimensions from photographs of components, the drawing is a huge improvement in precision.
I owe you a beer.

Hello Jasonb,
I just tried zooming and couldn't make it happen. Do you have the original net address?
Rob

I'll have to see if I can find it, site software has reduced it from 700k to 70:( Or PM me your e-mail.
