I'm about half way through building my Mikado. casting were sourced from Railroad Warehouse (now extinct!).
The boiler construction is coming up and hence giving decisions on valves and plumbing.
The drawings are very good but refer to part suppliers such as the Superscale Co and components such as Hancock and Nathan Boiler Check valves.
I would be grateful if anyone knows if Superscale was sold to another company, or could recommend an alternative supplier?
Are Hancock & Nathan valves still available?
Regards,
Jack.

A tiny bit more info....

The former owner of Superscale has passed away a year ago. There seem to be negotiations with a buyer. No News about any deal.

Someone seems to sell the superscale couplers now, probably has bought the Patterns.

Doesn't look well for buying superscale stuff.....

This is a problem with this industry. Often suppliers are owner / operators and when they go the company goes. If there isn't somebody out there with a passion for the product to take over, it can be years before a replacement hits the market.

Frankly people without a passion for large scale won't bother because selling this stuff is not a way to riches. What would be nice is to see one of the railroad clubs take on production of these sorts of low volume components. At least as people pass on the product remains available.
