Hellow all, I am new to this site but have looked around and like to see all the projects going on and completed. My name is Ryker Carruthers, I'm from a small town in south west iowa. I'm a freshman in high school and I have a love for machining, we have a 12" craftsman atlas lathe, a 16" south bend lathe from 1922, a 21" monarch lathe, a 9x42 bridgeport mill, a 8x28 index milling machine, a small craftsman drill press a large shaper, and an even larger radial arm drill. We have 2 scale traction engines, a 1/4 scale 65 hp case and a 1/2 scale 65 hp case. We have a full size 20 hp advance rumely that my grandpa ran from the early 20's untill he was drafted in to the war I belive in 1942. We also aquired a 65 hp case full size engine a few years ago, both of those engines need restored. My dad has a railroad warehouse mikado that I help with and I am saving for a allen models mogul, we are also going to build a little engines crab. I have several little machining projects going on also.
I look forward to talking to all of you.

Hiya Ryker, I'm a noob here, but also a fellow Iowan, I'm from an equally small town in south-central Iowa. I'll be setting up my home machine shop over the winter and will be starting on an Allen Models Mogul next spring. The prototype for that particular model is in the National Museum of Transport, St Louis MO. Looks like you've got a nice shop setup at your disposal. Those traction engines are really cool. I visited the Old Thresher's Reunion in Mount pleasant a long time ago, and just might again.

Your profile statistic showing that you are now a new here. Anyways welcome to the community.

Ryker; Where do you run your Mikado? Track at home or nearby. Is it 7.5" gauge?

Just letting you know, this thread is from 5 years ago and Ryker has not logged in to the site for over a year so you're very unlikely to get a response... Sorry!
