Hi all,

Am new to model engine building but I have wanted to be involved for many years now.
Looking forward to learning from this great forum.

Welcome Jim.
Lots of information here for the asking.
Tell us a little about yourself, tools and experience. Any strong interests in a particular type of engine?

very little experience
I bought a 7x lathe and have spent time learning to use it.
My background is in cabinet making and love to scratch build planes (many varied types but do enjoy indoor catapult).
My interest is in steam and hit and miss engines.
Thanks

No just a harbour freight.
Spent some time getting it squared away.
Works smoother and is more accurate than I expectec.

Good machines

I was trained on old British stuff (Colchesters, Myfords, Boxfords) so I am a little biased

But I have used a harbour freight a couple of times and I liked it. You get a lot of lathe for your money

Best Regards Mark
