Hi,
I've renewed my interest in machining as a result of my watch obsession. I have a technical (metallurgical engineer, but focused on semiconductors) background, but have never gotten around to do much metal work.

I'm looking forward to teaching myself the basics, and ask for your patience as I ask stupid noob questions (I'll try to mimize them--I do try to search before asking)

Welcome to the site, lots of good help here.

Are you going to make a watch?

While I did pick up a nice jeweler's lathe, I moved to CA 3 years ago and my my interests have shifted to building an AC Cobra kit car, so am now looking at larger scale metal working techniques and equipment. Oh, and I never built a watch, but I was able to repair a few ;-)

Welcome from Spain
This forum is full of very knowledgeable people and I
have in the past received some very useful information whilst
building a model traction engine.
