Hello everyone, my name is Greg from Rochester, NY. I've been a CNC Machinist for 9 years and have a shop at home that I use to build all sorts of things and spend time in. I came across this site looking for ideas of projects I can make on my machines and building model engines sounds interesting and challenging. I hope to learn from you all and hopefully start on my first steam engine soon. I have a Bridgeport mill and my current ongoing project is the restoration of a Southbend Heavy 10 lathe I recently bought. After that I'll be starting a few engine builds.

Hi Greg, welcome to the forum, you will pick up plenty of ideas here. I worked on Bridgeport mills for many years, I have a King Rich mill at home, which is a Bridgeport clone, just a bit bigger.

Paul.

Where in Rochester? I'm in SE Brighton. Always welcome to come over and visit my shop. PM me for a phone number or email address. I'd be interested in seeing the lathe, and even lending a hand if I can.

Have you visited the Rochester Makerspace? It was started by a friend, and it's worth a visit, too. http://www.rochestermakerspace.org/
